FM8501 is a high-precision non-isolated step-down LED constant current control chip. The chip works in critical inductor current mode and has a built-in OVP function. The Vovp voltage value can be set by adjusting the resistance of the external OVP resistor. It is suitable for 85VAC~265VAC Full voltage range non-isolated step-down LED lighting application.
The FM8501 chip integrates a 500V power switch, adopts high-precision sampling, compensation circuits and high-voltage JFET power supply technology, without VCC capacitors and startup resistors, and without any external compensation circuits and feedback circuits. The chip uses precise and stable adaptive technology. This makes the system peripherals very simple, can achieve high-precision LED constant current output and excellent line voltage adjustment rate under the condition of very few peripheral components, which greatly saves the system cost and volume.
The FM8501 chip works in critical inductor current mode, and the output current does not change with changes in inductance and LED operating voltage, thereby achieving excellent load regulation.
FM8501 has multiple protection functions, including LED open/short circuit protection, chip power supply under-voltage protection, chip over-temperature adjustment, etc.
